Hello, this is Sugawara, the designer! It's already the latter half of August, and according to the calendar, autumn is just around the corner. It's still hot, so I can't go anywhere without my parasol. Today, I'd like to introduce our new "lacquer-ware umbrella" that doubles as a parasol! This is the second collaboration with the long-established umbrella manufacturer "Ramuda," whom we collaborated with once four years ago!

This handle is a masterpiece showcasing the skilled craftsmanship of a base coat artisan who meticulously adjusted the camellia wood, and a lacquer artisan who hand-applied two coats of lacquer.It's a masterpiece that showcases their unwavering dedication to their craft.

■The main fabric is a gorgeous Koshu-ori weave

Koshu-ori is a traditional textile from Yamanashi Prefecture, characterized by its beautiful silk-like luster and rich texture. The Koshu-ori cover features vibrant stripes that converge at the top, where the ferrule is located, a "pattern matching" technique that showcases the skill of a master traditional craftsman of Tokyo parasols. |
■You can coordinate your bag handle with your umbrella handle, both in lacquerware

We created this with the thought that "if YOUTA customers could enjoy coordinating the umbrella handle with their doctor's bag handle, they would surely be delighted!" Even just seeing it waiting in its folding case can bring a cool and happy feeling. ■Introduction to Ramuda
 Ramuda-Ichihara umbrellas are carefully crafted one by one in their in-house workshop, the only one in Tokyo, by two master traditional craftsmen of Tokyo umbrellas.
You've probably seen them at famous department stores and thought, "I've always wanted one!" Ramuda umbrellas are an aspiration for us too, a special umbrella that feels like a connection with a neighbor. As it's our 20th anniversary, we wanted to reintroduce them with care. |
