The development story of our 20th Anniversary Model, the "Shikkoku Lizard," has finally reached its final chapter. In the first installment, we discussed the philosophy of "Shikkoku" (jet black), and in the second, the techniques of "Echizen lacquerware." This final installment will focus on the "meticulous attention to detail and practicality" that allows this bag to be used extensively in daily life.
What we have achieved over 20 years is not merely a bag for display. It is a "tool perfected" to be consistently beautiful and reliable, whether on rainy days or in demanding business environments.

1. Choosing "Lizard PVC" that surpasses real leather

For the main material, we selected carefully chosen "lizard PVC."
Some of you might be surprised to hear "PVC (polyvinyl chloride)," but there's a clear reason why we chose this material. First and foremost, its overwhelmingly realistic texture stands out. Utilizing the latest embossing technology, we have faithfully reproduced the intricate scale pattern characteristic of lizard and its unique, complex light reflection. At first glance, it exudes a luxury that could easily be mistaken for natural leather.
However, its true appeal lies in its "functionality."
"I want to use beautiful things every day without hesitation." This lizard PVC is the optimal modern solution to fulfill that desire.

2. Harmonizing the worldview with the "specially ordered dark gray" bag frame

The "bag frame," a shape-retaining component that is almost an icon of YOUTA.
Normally, this component uses a beige color to match the interior, but this time, we specially produced a "custom dark gray" to match the interior color of the 20th-anniversary model. The moment you open the bag, the dark gray frame, harmonizing with the jet-black exterior and interior, maintains a dignified appearance.
With the "bag frame," the beautiful silhouette of the lizard leather remains intact even when filled with a PC and documents. Applying a unique color even to parts invisible from the outside. This commitment to unseen details is the hallmark of a product commemorating its 20th anniversary. |

For the interior lining, we've chosen "custom dark green," the brand color of YOUTA, symbolizing intelligence and dignity. This deep, quiet forest green stands in stark contrast to the "bright functionality" of the standard model's beige interior.

There are many good clothes for men, but few bags. So, we decided to make our own. With that honest thought, we launched the leather bag brand "YOUTA" in 2006. As someone who had worked in various apparel-related jobs, including clothes, watches, and shoes, the material I focused on was synthetic leather. It's lightweight and resistant to rain, so it requires no maintenance. Another reason I chose synthetic leather is that "vegan leather," made from non-animal materials, suits modern sensibilities.
