Hello, I'm Sugawara, the designer!

It's already the latter half of December, and the year is almost over, isn't it?

Even though a lot happened, 2022 felt like it flew by. How was your year?

Today, we're excited to announce that a limited edition of 10 "Ramuda Bespoke Luxury Folding Umbrellas" from Ichihara, a long-established umbrella manufacturer whose products are also carried by a certain department store, are now available in our shop! They're perfect as a Christmas gift for yourself after working hard all year!

This is a special item that umbrella enthusiasts dream of owning "someday." Let me introduce it to you right away ♪


■The umbrella I've always admired, now at our shop's 16th anniversary milestone

 

Ramuda, also known as Ichihara, produces umbrellas one by one with great care in their in-house workshop, the only one of its kind in Tokyo. They've also produced two traditional craftspeople for Tokyo Western umbrellas.

Their umbrellas are widely carried in famous department stores, so many of you have probably seen them or always wanted one, right?

Ramuda's umbrellas are also something we admire, and they feel like a special connection due to our close proximity.

Since it's our shop's 16th anniversary, I wanted to take this opportunity to carefully re-introduce them.

Not only are they useful on rainy days, but just seeing them waiting in our popular folding umbrella case is enough to make you feel cool and happy.

It's strange how having your "likes" close by can give you power and energize you, isn't it?

“Oh, such a cool handle, why can’t I buy it anymore…?”

Ramuda's umbrellas with natural wood handles are popular, but natural wood is becoming difficult to obtain, and the number of skilled craftsmen who can work with it is decreasing. Unfortunately, some handle materials will no longer be available in the future.

At such times, I can't help but think, "If our YOUTA customers could enjoy coordinating their umbrella handles with their Dalles bag handles, they would surely be delighted."

Will the things we take for granted and can buy and use now someday be called "those cool things from back then"?

Imagining them becoming future vintage pieces, I am reminded to cherish the fact that I can spend my days with this umbrella now.

Taking good care of such an admired umbrella will likely be a pleasure for a long time in life.

While choosing by material is good, we also recommend matching the color of the bag handle with the umbrella handle to create a more coordinated look.

 

In our shop, we offer three types using Koshu-ori fabric from Yamanashi: "Natural Acacia & Wisteria Wood," "Kanchiku Bamboo," and "Embossed Leather."

Hello, I'm Sugawara, the designer at YOUTA.

There are many cool clothes for men, but not so many bags. So I thought, why not make them ourselves? With that straightforward idea, I launched the men's bag brand "YOUTA" in 2006. Having worked in various apparel-related fields, including clothing, watches, and shoes, the material that caught my attention was synthetic leather. It's lightweight, water-resistant, and unlike genuine leather, requires no maintenance. Another reason I chose synthetic leather was to offer something unique.
