【第3回】コンマ数ミリのズレも許さない。鞄の聖地「豊岡」の職人が命を吹き込む、限定ツイードの仕立て舞台裏。

[Part 3] Not a fraction of a millimeter of deviation allowed. Behind the scenes of the tailoring of limited-edition tweed, brought to life by artisans in "Toyooka," the holy land of bags.

Hello everyone.
Since the start of advance reservations on our official website on July 3rd, we have received an overwhelming response to our 20th Anniversary "Limited Edition Tweed" series. Thanks to all of you, the remaining slots for some sizes are already counting down. Thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts.
This development story finally reaches its final installment. Following our first feature on the "Drama of Revival" and the second on our "Commitment to Tweed-style PVC and Melaleuca Handles," we conclude by introducing the heart of our craftsmanship—where these beautiful materials are fashioned into a "perfect bag"—the story of the artisans in "Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture," Japan's premier sanctuary for bag making.
No matter how excellent the materials or how beautiful the natural wood, without the "sewing" technique to assemble them perfectly, a product cannot become a tough masterpiece for everyday use. Why do YOUTA bags maintain their form and dignified appearance even after years of use? We invite you behind the scenes of the factory to reveal the secret.

1. Trust in "Toyooka," a sanctuary for bags with a thousand-year history

Located in the northern part of Hyogo Prefecture, Toyooka City is Japan's largest production area for bags, having produced "tools for carrying" for over a thousand years, beginning with the "willow boxes" of the Nara period. Even today, a large portion of domestic bags circulated in Japan is born in this region.
YOUTA bags are crafted by skilled artisans in "Toyooka Kaban Certified Factories," which meet especially rigorous examination standards within Toyooka.
Their technique can only be described as "exquisite."
The "tweed-style PVC" used this time is a highly delicate material where the complex shading of woven threads is expressed through subtle textures of just a few millimeters. When sewing this on a machine, even the slightest misalignment of the needle or change in tension can distort the beautiful tweed pattern on the surface.
Artisans control the speed of their sewing machines, feeling the subtle changes in material stiffness due to daily temperature and humidity with their fingertips, and stitch it together stitch by stitch with pinpoint accuracy. The smooth curves at the corners of the bag and the beautiful straight lines where parts meet are artistic beauties realized only through the "memory of the hands" of artisans with many years of experience.

2. Obsessive attention to invisible details that support a "lifetime item"

The goal we set for this 20th Anniversary Limited Tweed series is "for our customers to take pride in using these bags even 10 years from now.".
To that end, we have made thorough updates to even the unseen parts of this 20th anniversary model.
The "bespoke dark green" interior that unfolds the moment you open the bag has also been hand-applied by skilled artisans from the inside, without any gaps, ensuring the lining does not lift or wrinkle.
Furthermore, we adopted our unique "Kaban no Hone" (Bag's Skeleton) components, which support the bag's self-standing ability and keep the form beautiful. For this model, we used a "bespoke dark gray" color exclusive to this series.
By having this part, which is never visible from the outside, inserted inside the bag by artisans with millimeter precision, the "beautiful proportions" you fell in love with on the first day will never collapse, no matter how much you pack or how many years you use it. (*Does not apply to mini shoulder and XS sizes)
"Artisan pride resides in the parts that cannot be seen."
This almost obsessive attention to detail by Toyooka artisans is the true strength of "Made in Japan," which the world admires, and the reason you will feel a "value that exceeds the price."

3. The "Final Countdown" for the first-come, first-served 30-person bonus

Because these limited edition tweeds are hand-tailored one by one by Toyooka artisans, the slots of "15 pieces per size (total of 75 pieces across 5 types)" will not be increased. Having already received many orders, we anticipate the race for stock will only accelerate.
And there is one more important point.
The highly acclaimed advance reservation bonus: the "20th Anniversary Commemorative Genuine Leather Key Strap".
This jet-black, not-for-sale strap, which creates a perfect contrast with the bag's Melaleuca handle, is a special gift limited to 【Official Store Exclusive - First 30 Customers only】.
The remaining slots for the first 30 people are also running out. If you are debating "which size to get" or "if it will truly suit you," it is wisest to make your decision now while these special limited slots are still available.

4. The "Supreme Partner" arriving in early October, as autumn deepens

This concludes our three-part development story of the 20th Anniversary "Limited Edition Tweed."
The drama that began with selling out three years ago has gathered all the pieces—tweed-style PVC that turns rain into beauty, natural Melaleuca handles that grow with your palm, the precision-engineered "Kaban no Hone," and the craftsmanship of Toyooka—and will soon be completed as a single form.
We are planning to receive and deliver to you in early October, when you can begin enjoying jacket and coat styles.
Please look forward to that special moment when this bag, which brings together the best of Japanese craftsmanship, elevates your autumn and winter styling and adds firm confidence to your daily business and everyday life.
With 15 pieces of each size available, I look forward to this once-in-a-lifetime encounter with all of you until the very moment they are sold out.

There are many great men's clothing items, but very few bags. If that's the case, let's make them ourselves. It was with this straightforward desire that we launched the leather bag brand "YOUTA" in 2006. As someone who had worked in various apparel-related fields—clothing, watches, and shoes—the material I focused on was synthetic leather. It is lightweight, rain-resistant, and requires no maintenance. Another reason I chose synthetic leather is that "vegan leather," made from non-animal materials, is perfect for modern life. Through the traditional Japanese culture of craftsmanship, we aim to provide a comfortable business life for working people and support Japan's manufacturing industry.
